It is all too often the way that egocentric instructors fail to see the importance of opening their minds to the potential beyond. A little philosophical maybe? but I do believe martial arts in the UK are not evolving in a positive way and that is probably due to too many over inflated grades leading to instructors who have lost some fundamental core values.Hanshi Brucehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08174447893716450288noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1042823635718588248.post-56980376585816311812008-11-18T09:17:00.000-08:002008-11-18T09:17:00.000-08:00I have found martial arts clubs are very political.<BR/>Most has the total belief that their art is the superior and in many cases this I think breads egos <BR/><BR/>We can all learn from each other and I have found this at our annual meetings at Woolacombe Devon where many styles get together. It may not be a technique, throw or a move but more often a thought or an understanding viewed from another prospective that makes something suddenly clear. <BR/><BR/>This I feel could be extended into other local martial arts clubs whatever their style, but rather than being reactive I think be proactive. Maybe clubs should invite other clubs to train with each other and we should go and train at theirs, not mob handed but in a respectful way.
